NEWSLETTER MARCH 2018
Welcome
Hello everyone, welcome, and thanks for attending our AGM. I know it’s not very exciting, but it is necessary for us to comply with the Charities Commission rules, so thanks for bearing with us.
Spring Break
A couple of weeks ago a party of members enjoyed 3 nights at the Esplanade Hotel in Llandudno. The weather as you will remember was bitterly cold, but they wrapped up and braved the elements. As ever, the staff couldn’t do enough to help, and a good time was had by all. I have to mention though, that Rod Jackson won the bingo twice! Shame on you, give someone else a chance!
Summer Holiday
Just a reminder that the holiday must be paid in full by the May meeting. As always, to help spread the cost, we are accepting periodic payments to avoid paying it all in one go. Please remember to bring your payment cards with you though, so you have a record of what you have paid.
Day Trip
Our first trip of the year is to Southport, on Friday 23rd March. The coach leaves the stadium at 09.30, and the Red Admiral at 09.45, the cost being £10 a head. Please give your names to Dianne with your payment.
For a long time now, the club has had to subsidise the coach cost, when it should pay for itself. So the choice is that either we get more bums on seats, or we increase the cost per head. So the ball is firmly in the members court, ideally we need to have more people supporting these trips. Bring your friends and family, your neighbours, anyone who would like to have a great day out for a little money. If we aren’t organising the right trips to enthuse you, then tell us, and suggest some alternatives.
