Halton Mayor Alan Lowe , Joan Lowe, Teressa Cook and Ernie Ratcliffe
It’s hard to believe that it has been 20 years since Bob Bryant BEM and a group of like minded friends set up our club. In those years we must have provided a social outlet and support to hundereds of stroke people and their families and friends. To celebrate this achievement we held a 20th birthday party at Select Security Stadium. Bob and Carole Bryant travelled all the way from Babbacombe, where they now live, to help us to celebrate.

This year’s Halton Mayor, Alan Lowe and his consort wife Joan joined in together with last year’s mayor Ged Philbin and his partner Ros Wong. Dave Osborne of Take Phatt provided outstanding entertainement and a delicious hot and cold buffet was provided for all who attended and rounded off with Birthday cake baked, decorated and generously donated by Teressa Cook (Vice Chair)

Our regular raffle raised £150 for the club and members generously provided a wonderful array of prizes. It was a wonderful celebration and thanks to a charitable donation from last year’s Mayor’s Charity our future is secured at least for a few more years. Committee and Club members will continue to fundraise and promote the club wherever they can and we really want the club to continue for at least another 20 years with support from our community and friends. Unfortunately, there will continue to be people who experience strokes and the side effects and we want to continue to provide them with a social outlet and support for as long as possible.
