Newsletter, April 2017

Welcome

Hello everyone, and welcome to the April meeting.  Tonight we are to be entertained by Paul Keenan, who sings a tribute to Frank Ifield, who I’m sure you will all remember, but he is very versatile as I’m sure he will demonstrate.  Look forward to a good old fashioned sing-a-long.

Omission

I forgot to mention in a past newsletter that we received a donation of £175 from Jean Bates in memory of her brother, George Lake for which we are very grateful.

Summer Holiday

Just a reminder that the holiday must be paid in full at the next meeting.   Please remember to bring your payment cards with you though, so you have a record of what you have paid.

Day Trips

The first trip of the year to Llandudno was a great success.  The weather was lovely, if a little chilly in the shade. This month we are off to Southport for the day. The coach leaves the Red Admiral at 09.15, and the stadium at 09.30, the cost being £10 a head.  Please give your names to Dianne with your payment. Can I remind you of our new system for payments where you put it in an envelope we have on the table, and put your name and reason on it too. I asked last month that we fill the coach to keep the costs down and make sure the trips go ahead, and you didn’t disappoint.  So, let’s keep up the momentum and fill the coach again please. Bring your friends and family, your neighbours, anyone who would like to have a great day out for a little money.  If we aren’t organising the right trips to enthuse you, then tell us, and suggest some alternatives.

Mayors Charity

Please put this date in your diary:

Friday 28th April

This is the last Mayors charity fundraising evening that Ged Philbin will be holding before he hands over the reins to Councillor Alan Lowe. It’s celebrating St Georges day, so let’s make it as big as St Patricks day by as many of us as possible coming along here to the stadium. We’ll meet at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. There is a traditional 3 course meal on offer, and entertainment is from our old friend Dave Osborne.  Tickets are £15 each, so please give your names and money to Dianne tonight.

Afternoon Club

As a thank you for your continued support for the club, we are having a free lunch at the Halton British Legion on Wednesday 19th April. This is open to ALL members. If you are coming then the meal is at 1pm, so please arrive slightly earlier.  Give your names to Teresa, together with a payment of £5.  This will be reimbursed when you arrive. This is to prevent us from ordering meals, and then members not turning up.

Have a good night.
