Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to our AGM. In order to attend this meeting, you need to be a paid up member, so if you haven’t renewed yet, make sure you see me with your money before the meeting starts.

Afternoon Club

As stated at last months meeting, the afternoon club will be held at the Grangeway Community Centre, Runcorn on the third Wednesday of the month, starting next week, between 2pm and 4pm. This month we have arranged a few games of bingo, and some lively chat. Refreshments will be available from the cafe. I do hope that as many of you as possible will support this new venture for the club, and make it as successful as the evening meetings. Don’t forget to tell your friends, better still, bring them along!

Summer Holiday

Just a reminder, that the holiday must be paid in full by the May meeting.

Club Caravan

As I have shown in the accounts earlier, this is a make or break year for the caravan. If we don’t come close to breaking even, then we will have no option but to dispose of it, probably for a fraction of the price we paid 3 years ago. This is not what we want to do obviously, but it is a big drain on our funds, and it isn’t sustainable. If you can, please support it and book a week or two.

Day Trip

This months’ trip on Friday March 18^th, is to the lovely market town of Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin. It is a mix between York and Chester, with a castle, the home of the Shropshire Regimental Museum, and an abbey, famous as the fictional home of Brother Cadfael. A river loops through the centre, and there is a half hour boat trip available. There is a thriving market to explore along with the usual chain stores, and plenty of places to eat and drink.

The coach will leave the stadium at 09.15, and the Red Admiral at 09.30. The cost will be £10 per person.

Day Trips 

I need to remind everyone again, that if you put your name down for a trip, and you don’t turn up, if you have paid in advance you will NOT get a refund. If you haven’t paid, and don’t turn up, I will still expect you to pay for your trip the next time I see you. 

Mayors Charity 

There are a couple of events coming up to promote. The first is on this Friday, the 11^th, and is an Easter bingo night here, eyes down at 7pm. Entry fee is 50p

The next is an Irish Night on Friday 18^th, here again. There is a hotpot supper and dessert included, with entertainment from an Irish tribute band, and a raffle.  Tickets are £10 each and we have 8 tickets left. This is a fabulous night, you’ll have a great time!

Thanks to you all for coming to support your club tonight.  Don’t forget, we still have suggestions slips available for you to comment on what we are doing right or wrong, or to ask us to consider a new destination for a day trip, or a different activity on club nights.  We want everyone to have a say on how the club is run, and these slips are there for that purpose so please use them.
